Some Words About Veny
Every picture is worth a thousand words, because each painting not only tells the story of its creation; the story of the subject, but also the story of the artist that created it. Blended in the fine acrylic
paints of Veny's canvases are her lifetime of experiences including her early beginnings in Eastern Europe.
Veny was born in Bulgaria in 1970. Growing up in the beautiful city of Sofia, Veny was no stranger to the arts
and creativity, as her immediate family was comprised of a professional photographer, a building engineer and
her grandfather George, a self taught oil painter, who worked as a humor and satire writer.
During her early years she was often left at home alone as her parents had to work long hours to make ends meet.
She was often frightened being alone but turned to her paper, pens and pencils to escape the overwhelming fear.
This foundation of art, creativity and her passion for learning eventually led her to private sessions with the
famous Bulgarian painter, sculptor and art restoration specialist, Lubomir Delchev (1930-2008). Veny also honed her craft by
studying with painter, mentor and friend, Ivan Dodov.
During her time in college her creativity was unstoppable and she would sketch on anything she could get her hands on.
Napkins, scrap paper, sketchbooks, all were used as vessels for Veny's inspiration.
Veny's strict dedication to mastering painting and creating original
acrylic artwork did not leave much time for social pursuits until 2003 when she married her long time friend and moved to Boston, Massachusetts.
She has now built a beautiful and balanced life where she has two boys and is able to create the original
artwork of Veny daily and be with her family.
Some Words from Veny
I always paint with my heart and soul. Naturally painting is like scuba diving for me.
It isolates me from the rest, leaving me in my own world where sky is the limit.
Artist is free only if realizes that his paintings represents
his very own personal vision of the world.
There is nothing like freedom to stir the heart and passions for what you love.
There is nothing better than freedom. No one else sees a tree like I do or a star or the sun,
this vision is mine and no other opinion would ever change that fact. Everyone else thoughts,
their criticisms and interpretations of my work, can be beneficial for me as a side view.
Art has always been the greatest method of freedom of expression known to humanity.
The greatest gift of all for an artist is the ability to express their vision, feelings and emotions
with their art. This is what the artist leaves behind to remind the world of their existence,
their time here on Earth, and the artist's voice of opinion is remembered.
I do this with the color of acrylics on canvas.
I would like to thank my husband, my boys Eric and Vincent, my mom, my sister and my brother in law
for their tremendous support and belief in me. This is what keeps me going!
