As an artist I am delighted to create a limited Christmas ornaments collection, as an expression of what Christmas means to me and my family. Each year I spend significant time designing and hand crafting pottery, which then I hand decorate with the colors of Christmas. My original handmade Christmas ornaments find their way to collectors around the world and can bring a unique style on your Christmas tree. Handmade Christmas ornaments carry high value and bring quality and unique presence like a true piece of art should. Of course there are imitations to watch for. The Story of the Christmas Ornaments | Hand Crafted Christmas Ornaments

For over 200 years christmas ornaments are used to decorate a pine tree for celebrating Christmas. Christmas tree tradition originate from Germany where trees were decorated with strings of dried apples, garlands of popcorn, tin figures, white candy canes and pastries shaped as stars, flowers and hearts. In the mid 1800s, the first glass baubles were produced by the artisan Hans Grenier in village of Lauscha, Germany. Hans came up with garlands of glass beads as an alternative of the popcorn and dry apple strings.

The original glass ornaments were mostly in the shape of fruits and nuts, but from economical stand point they lasted longer and people reuse them every year. Many artisans begin to recognize the growing popularity of Christmas baubles and began producing them in a wide range of designs. Christmas baubles became very popular in first in Germany; the artisans in Lauscha used their artistic imagination to create many different shapes baubles. Soon, the whole of Germany began buying Christmas glassware from the tiny village of Lauscha.

The rest of the world had to wait until 1840 when the Christmas decorating became widespread part of the Christmas celebration. One royal person created huge interest in Christmas ornaments : deeply impressed by a Christmas tree decorated with glass ornaments and baubles from her husband Prince Albert's native from Germany, queen Victoria wrote about her delight at having a tree, hung with lights, ornaments, and presents placed round it. A London newspaper published picture of the royal tree and Lauscha began exporting its products throughout entire Europe.

Today almost each region in the world has different traditions and rituals in the Christmas tree decoration. But the spirit of Christmas that began in a little village of Lauscha in Germany is what millions of people share regardless of the traditions. For me and my family decorating of the Christmas tree at home brings the joy and became the most wonderful of all Christmas traditions. It is the preparation for Christmas that makes me happy each year and brings the most magical moment for the soul around that time.
